Assessing Neighbourhood Health with Quantum Biofeedback

We are very pleased to have Lina Razgaitis, a pain and stress specialist, as our speaker at the next gathering.

Quantum Biofeedback: Advanced Scientific Methods to Manage Pain and Stress

Scans on the Indigo quantum biofeedback units look at reactions to over 11,000 stress related factors.  whatreallyworksforstress.com.

Lina will share with us how she produces 32-page reports on the current health of Earth's biology or a neighbourhood.

For us to look at any claims about quantum physics (that may otherwise boggle the mind or make eyes roll), biophysicist, Dr John Stewart has agreed to be present in a support role for the group.  He is an expert on the physics of biological organisms.

Date and time:  Wednesday January 27, 2016 from 7 to 9pm.

Location: Columbus Centre, Toronto's Italian community's cultural centre, 901 Lawrence Ave West, two buildings west of Dufferin.
Columbus Centre is conveniently located near Highway 401, and the Spadina subway (a 10 minute walk or short bus ride from Lawrence West subway station).

We like to break-out into small groups of 3 or 4 people to discuss and help digest what we heard, and what this means to us individually.  We will also use groups to assess whether use of Quantum Biofeedback is advantageous for the health of neighbourhoods and how we go about setting up programs.

This free event is held in conjunction with Universe City of Toronto.  We will look at expanding Universe City as a place you go to get the skills and experience you need for today's economy of creativity, sustainable development and learning.  Check out the section called 'Courses'.

Universe City is organized in seven movements.  One movement is about Health Promotion in neighbourhoods.

We are looking forward to getting together with like-hearted individuals.
Let Nick D'Aleandro or I know if you plan to attend.  Bring a friend.

Cheap solutions to world problems - Plasma Energy Power Units

We will be hearing more about a ‘Plasma Energy Power Unit' designed by Keshe Foundation.  We will read about it on the internet - but maybe not in the mainstream media.

These 'world-changing' units are designed  to be affordable. For about $200 a home can generate power and be less reliant on power companies. For those who cannot afford the unit funding will be available from many sources, especially in the developing countries.

A unit will maintain a heating system and cooling system in our homes. A consistent room temperature will be available no matter how hot or cold it is outside.  Units will also be available for cars therefore also saving us thousands of dollars in fuel costs.

The Keshe Foundation was started by Professor Mehran Tavakoli Keshe, an Iranian plasma physicist and nuclear scientist. It has offices in China and California.

He also started Keshe Foundation Spaceship Institute, or KF SSI, located in Bari, Italy. It was set up to teach industry, organizations, and individuals, how to develop systems and technologies based on the Keshe Foundation knowledge. The Institute hopes to become a central hub for the spread of plasma technology and knowledge.

The KF SSI is primarily an organization dedicated to understanding of space, and learning all aspects of survival in space.

Mehran Keshe repeatedly says that plasma units will go out for worldwide distribution. Keshe says that within the next 6 to 12 months things will change dramatically for the better as manufacturing will have created enough units for the entire world.

When Mehran Keshe gives his plasma reactors to delegates at a Peace Conference in Rome on October 16th, we can anticipate fuel price starting to drop permanently.

So October 16th, 2015 could be a significant date for everyone and the planet. It could be another turning point towards a more enlightened way of operating and loving our planet.  It is something that many have been working toward for centuries.

That's him - on the right.

Obama was reputedly given a plasma unit on September 24th of this year.  North America will hopefully go after cheap energy, as an alternative to what people have been saying for twenty years - 'War is not an Energy Plan'.

There is no copyright and in fact Keshe made sure that it cannot be copyrighted.  People around the world will accept peace and cheap energy - which will change everything.

The Keshe Foundation Spaceship Institute claims that, "for the first time we have managed to create atomic hydrogen and carbon as gas and as solid matter at room temperature."

Technical notes:
This new method uses atom-thickness layers, and multiple layered carbon, i.e., graphene.  Several international patents with over 300 potential uses have been filed in past years.
Graphene has the same composition as what we find at the core of pencils but is structured differently.  Until now this has only been produced at temperatures of 700° to 800°C.

Keshe is excited about the healing powers of this technology and how it produces a force field that protects against nasty psycho-tronic devices that have made misery of people's lives.

He claims that how we interact with the plasma is dictated by our overall vibration at the time.  Somehow the unit is sensitive to our vibrations.  That should be interesting if we wake up feeling grumpy.  It should give new meaning to phrases like stay positive, or, be happy!

Solving Stress through Nutrition

There have been so many big changes in the world this summer.  Now we're giving ourselves some time to get-together and consider the opportunities we have for a new kind of society and a better world.
We need to ensure we take good care of ourselves to be effective in the world.

Our featured speaker:

Dr. Olia Filina, a doctor of naturopathy, helps solve issues of stress and anxiety.  Dr. Olia uses
many forms of treatment including nutrition.

Come to the Columbus Centre, the Italian community's cultural centre, Tuesday September 29, 2015 from 7 to 9pm.
Columbus Centre is conveniently located near Highway 401, and the Spadina subway (a walk or short bus ride from Lawrence West subway station).

Location: The beautiful boardroom along the corridor to the right of the ground floor restaurant.

What happens after the World Economic Collapse in 2008?

You probably missed news of evidence of massive bank fraud if you only follow the mainstream media.  We will never understand what happened when the world's economy almost tanked in 2008 and ruined so many lives unless we turn to other sources.

Banks have paid huge fines to stay out of court and stop the rest of us finding out about their actions.

A Canadian woman, Alayne Fleischmann, gave an exclusive interview on DemocracyNow.com.  She is the whistleblower who helped the Justice Department of the US make JPMorgan Chase pay one of the largest fines in U.S. history for its role in the world economic financial crisis.

http://www.democracynow.org/2015/1/1/matt_taibbi_and_the_9_billion

The Rolling Stone article they refer to is at:

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-9-billion-witness-20141106

No-one at any of the banks has been prosecuted.  We could conclude that the Department of Justice never really went after the people who practically wrecked the world economy.

Eric Holder, as head of the US Justice Department, justified his forgiving attitude towards banks when testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2013, by suggesting some banks are "too big to jail."

The bank that Alayne Fleischmann worked for seems unchanged.  The board of JPMorgan Chase gave their CEO a 75% salary increase after the collapse.

After so many people lost their homes, powerful people in government felt the need to help banks keep news and evidence of vast banking fraud away from the public. In the DemocracyNow,com interview we hear that Eric Holder used to work for a legal firm which had JPMorgan Chase as a client.  He worked his way up from being a corporate lawyer defending companies like JPMorgan Chase before becoming head of the Justice Department.

We now know that the main message Occupy Wall Street had to offer us, about the way the world is run, has proven correct. In the DemocracyNow,com interview we hear that a Wall Street CEO can phone the head of the Justice Department and ask for favours, like not prosecuting, and negotiating getting help with hushing things up if there were massive fraud.

Should we be thankful that the government did not aggravate a bad situation?  In the DemocracyNow.com interview, reporter Matt Taibbi goes through reasonable courses of action the Justice Department could have taken but decided not to.

Eric Holder was severely criticized for his statement on "too big" to even prosecute let alone jail.

He resigned from the US Justice Department in September 2014.  Obama said that Holder served the people well.

So how do we begin to live with this news?  Do we resolve this within ourselves by looking for whose naughty and whose nice?

Mainstream media work are a big part of this story.  In a big media company we work together at a similar steady and reliable pace as the rest of business and governance as we have known it.  A lot of emphasis is put on 'naughty and nice'.

Naughty is coming to mean the same thing as 'disruptive'.  Some of us operate at a pace that the rest of us find disruptive.  Yet the future of our economies has depended on disrupting what went before.

So naughty has become an issue of pace of operation.  In some parts of society pace of operation or functioning is called 'frequency'.

Creation exists as a long series of stages within a larger evolutionary progression.  Specific people and animals are representative of each stage.

Collectively the entire range of stages has introduced and extended higher functioning into the material dimension including worldly events.

Each stage works, much like an electrical transformer, to reduce the frequency of vibrations.  The frequency at which each creature functions and operates is either suited to that creature or the creature cannot be sustained within the larger being we call Life.

A person will get ill and die relatively early if they operate at a frequency that disagrees with them.

No-one can make a person that is able to thrive wrong.  We learn to live with what others do without denying the reality of the situation.

People used to learn to live by imposing fear and intimidation on one another.   As a way of daily functioning this caveman or clan-like mentality is very low on the scale.

The vast majority of us are happy to live beyond that level of functioning.  It is a familiar reaction to rationalize wanting to lash out at others in the face of overwhelming emotions.  Today we recognize this is only a defense mechanism that buffers the immediate shock.

Then there is the stage of negotiating when the reality and the pain that goes with it re-emerge.  We use some form of logic to justify what we do.  The intense emotion is deflected from our vulnerable core.  We redirect or 'project' the emotion of anger on to others even complete strangers when we have no idea what motivates their actions.

Many in the Occupy movement were concerned citizens.  They wanted us all to stop for a while and learn a more functional way of living with one another.

I like to discuss higher levels of functioning on another website:  betaDigest.wordpress.com.

Social Creator nutrition event goes Olympic

Fresh-faced Carolina Kostner won bronze at Sochi this year.

Dear friends,

Twenty-seven year old Carolina Kostner of Italy (on the right, above,) will be with us on Monday November 24, 2014 at 7pm.  Carolina will be answering questions about what is in her Olympian diet.

In a very memorable women's singles figure skating event in Sochi, Carolina won the bronze becoming the first Italian to win a medal in Olympic figure skating singles. Adelina Sotnikova of Russia (centre) won gold and defending champion, Yuna Kim of South Korea (on left), won silver.

Kostner placed 9th in her first Olympics in 2006 in Turin, and placed 16th in Vancouver. She almost quit skating but instead came from her values by "learning to skate for the passion & the pleasure".  This seemed to make all the difference.

This presentation will lead into developing our proposal to organize for a More Lively and Loving Toronto.  We will look at educating ourselves, engaging local growers, coordinating purchases among participating neighbourhoods, and negotiating big discounts through bulk purchasing.

We want input from people involved in all aspects of food, from the beginning.
Join us this Monday on the third floor of the beautiful Columbus Centre. Take the elevator to the right of the restaurant and follow the signs.

The Columbus Centre is an Italian cultural centre just west of Dufferin on the south side of Lawrence.  (Use the Allen Expressway or take the subway to Lawrence West Station and take a bus a few blocks west to Dufferin.)

Future of Media

'Future Media' is the book title that jumped out from the shelf at me while I was sitting at the library today.  The back cover explained what to expect between the covers:
"Combining their prescient nonfiction and fiction, Future Media showcases ... innovative explorations of the mass media...  Both cautionary and optimistic, this groundbreaking anthology offers challenging, engaging predictions of a future that will not be ignored."

It sounded great except for the bit about 'mass media'.

Because of the internet, mass media will continue to disintegrate even further beyond the 1000-channel cable bundles.  Ultimately the outcome is decentralization of the power to influence and persuade.

What will be new about the media in future will be a YouTube channel for every neighbourhood featuring the work, aspirations and needs of entrepreneurs.  You will check out interviews with local entrepreneurs and know who you want to connect with and help in some way.

We have seen the rise of social entrepreneurs who have missions of supporting a new kind of society.  People are making money out of entrepreneurs who deeply want to support neighbourhoods.  Centres or hubs for social entrepreneurs provide services and venues for gathering and collaborations.

City councilors and economic development departments understand and support this concept of a home for entrepreneurs to incubate projects.  It's another aspect of building management.

There are other trends in business besides social missions. Entrepreneurs have started to get into energy supply, ecological clean-up / recycling, re-purposing of material that would otherwise go to landfill, education, and community animation.

What has been missing in all this innovation is ways for neighbourhoods to support entrepreneurs.  That's where neighbourhood YouTube channels come in, that link video interviews to wish-lists.  Neighbours can find ways to support the local start-ups instead of waiting for the start-ups to support them during times of increasing instability.

Changing the world will continue to involve a massive number of new initiatives.  It is not a mega project.

We can create a future that benefits everyone when we help business start-ups that we feel warrant our support.  Media can help us make those decisions.

We need building managers for entrepreneurs.  Help for entrepreneurs in other forms are also necessary.  To find out more - here is a link to the QUEEN EAST Agency website.  I hope you will recognize that the future of media is partly local, and partly a means for us to help create a new kind of world.

Inclusive Capitalism

In May, 2014 , Prince Charles said in a speech at the Inclusive Capitalism conference:

"We can choose to act now before it is finally too late, using all of the power and influence that each of you can bring to bear to create an inclusive, sustainable and resilient society”.

The Prince was addressing an audience of 200 business leaders including Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, and chief executives of multinational companies such as UBS, GlaxoSmithKline and Unilever.

Here are more quotes from the article appearing in the UK's Telegraph newspaper.

“I remember when the Iron Curtain came down there was a certain amount of shouting about the triumph of capitalism over communism. Being somewhat contrary, I didn't think it was quite as simple as that. I felt that unless the business world considered the social, community and environmental dimensions, we might end up coming full circle.”

He called on businesses to focus on the long-term and make “an authentic moral commitment to acting as true custodians of the Earth and architects of the well-being of current and future generations”.

“It is only by adopting a broader sense of value that our finances will be sustained and we can find new sources of profit,” he said.

The Prince suggested that companies must do more to put “young people properly at the heart of companies' employment practices and planning strategies, in order to tackle more effectively the world's growing youth unemployment crisis”.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/prince-charles/10859230/Prince-Charles-reform-capitalism-to-save-the-planet.html

Ed Miliband, UK's Labour leader, has also called for “responsible capitalism”.

Newly Elected Premier of Ontario

This past week Kathleen Wynne was voted the first woman, and openly gay leader of the fair province of Ontario.

Taking from Occupy messages she said she is committed to creating an Ontario that works for everyone.  We probably haven't had that spirit here since the European settlers arrived.

When Occupy started there was talk of 'the 99%'.  This message was something the media could get their teeth into.  The message successfully changed the worldwide conversation on mainstream media and strongly influenced the agenda at the annual Davos Summit.  All with very little budget.  That was impressive.

Then Occupiers talked about 'a society that worked for everyone - 100%'.

Interestingly it was about that time that national leaders called the various Occupy groups terrorist organizations.

Now we have seen an acceptance speech where a major politician adopts the same, later, more refined message. It is an approach towards working smarter.  It has a stabilizing influence on society.  It is an enlightened approach that encourages greater participation in the social sphere.

We can recall how things progressed over the last forty years.  Conscientious citizens became known as engaged citizens that in turn became known as peaceful activists, only to be more recently branded as threats to security.  People who want to build a world that works for everyone were and probably never will be a threat.  Now again it is something to celebrate and be open about.

We must cherish her commitment.  It shows true leadership when we need it.

Gross National Happiness - despite everything

This post is about the world debut of Gross National Happiness measures, or GNH, to take the place of those tired Gross National Product figures, or GNP.

GNP is used to monitor manufacturing economy activity in industrial societies but includes financial gains.  GNP led to managing of countries using information that has horribly distorted the overall picture.  And bear in mind that all forms of ignorance are unnecessary.

Perhaps now that rich donors have a complete stranglehold on what is taught under the term, economics, in universities, and the credibility of economics grads is at an all-time low, it's time to allow economic academics to briefly give up on ignorance and recognize the obvious.

Our academics appear to be adopting new sets of indicators that look at fulfillment.  But this could be some of that ol' time tokenism.  Tokenism is the best way to suppress true reform and prevent our chances of adapting to reality.  You simply ensure that you can say, "Oh, we already have a department in place that's in charge of that.  (But we don't listen to what they say, and we don't give them money so they won't threaten the existing system which, let's face it, our donors ensure we continue to do well within.)"

But something really is going on.

The French government began publishing happiness indicators in 2009.

The Office for National Statistics in the UK has a program in place to measure national well-being at the same time that prime minister, Cameron, is touring East Asia to promote sales of weapons made in the UK.

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, OECD, is drawing up guidelines for members (mostly finance ministers of 'developed countries') to collect “well-being data”.

Daniel Kahneman, a psychologist who won the Nobel Prize in economics, is drawing up measures of “subjective well-being”. His group is financed by the Obama administration.  (We might wonder, "When is well-being not subjective?"  So look for answers, coming soon.)

The first World Happiness Report was published recently, commissioned for a United Nations Conference on Happiness, under the auspices of the UN General Assembly.  There's input from Columbia University’s Earth Institute, and two happiness experts, Richard Layard of the London School of Economics and John Helliwell of the University of British Columbia.

The happiest people are in countries in northern Europe:
Denmark,
Norway,
Finland,
Netherlands.

Countries with the most misery are on the African continent:
Togo,
Benin,
Central African Republic,
Sierra Leone.

At the UN Headquarters in New York City on April 2, 2012 the country of Bhutan hosted 600 participants from governments, academia, civil society and religious bodies.  The conference focused on Bhutan's new economic paradigm.

Prime Minister of Bhutan, Jigmi Y. Thinley: "It is now the intention of the meeting on April 2, (2012) to bring together people from around the world – ... we are looking at the launching of the initiative for the creation of a sustainability-based paradigm comprising of, basically, four dimensions. These are:
  1. well-being and happiness;
  2. ecological sustainability;
  3. fair distribution; and
  4. efficient use of the increasingly scarce resources."
The conference outcomes will inform negotiations related to Rio+20, the global conference on sustainable development in June of 2012.  Bhutan will present the revised plan.

Bhutan is a Himalayan kingdom.  But it's no Shangri-La.  There's wealth and then some estimates peg a quarter of the population of 700,000 as living on less than US$1.25 a day.  70 percent of the population is without electricity.

It's a country which experiences large, ongoing problems with Nepalese migrants.  It borders on Assam (India) where there is political unrest, and Tibet, which was violently reabsorbed into China.  So the country remains rocky in more ways than one.

And in 2014, Bhutan will go further and hold a conference at home aimed at developing a new GNH-based agreement equivalent to the Bretton Woods Agreement to establish post- WWII global economic controls.  See previous blog post for the significance of the Bretton Woods Agreement and why it fell apart.

Note:  Coverage of Bhutan's conference at the UN was also given by:
as well as Canada’s CBC and Global News, plus Le Monde, and Time.

BRICS countries changing Traditional Power in World

A massive shift in economic, political and financial power is underway.  You will see the beginnings if you look at the following video report, on the heads of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) meeting in New Delhi this week.  They talked about UN reform, and an alternative to Western institutions such as the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

The BRICS countries are reputedly experiencing an average of 7% growth each year whereas the economies of the `developed world` (US, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand) are in the toilet.  Today marked the first day in a series of massive changes.  So if you felt a cataclysmic shift in our world, from what you will read in the media, these will appear to be mostly national, economic, political and financial.

Note that the BRICS meetings were completely ignored by PBS in the US and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, never mind the corporately owned news outlets.  This was also the case with Occupy Wall Street which the mainstream media ignored for almost two weeks.

There were signs leading up to this.  Christine Lagarde, head of the IMF went cap-in-hand to talk with Russian president, Dmitry Medvedev asking if he could spare some cash to put in her fund.  She also announced, in effect, that the IMF will no longer engage in money laundering.

Another sign was the outrage that has grown since 2008.  No one is in jail, or even in court, for bringing about the global economic meltdown.  People in government and Wall Street are too chummy for doing anything about that. So the US was the reckless relative most countries wanted to watch.

This series of BRICS announcements means is that it will be much more difficult for the US and Israel to cook up a war with Iran.  If the BRICS countries disagree with western news outlets that President Assad in Syria is as bad a guy as he`s been made out to be, the UN may change their recent resolution.

The rise of the BRICS means that the dollar will no longer be the currency of choice for international deals.  We could see a new currency announced at the BRICS summit in South Africa in 2013.  Perhaps we`ll see the US military miss a few pay check deadlines for it`s employees... as many things seem possible now.  Stay tuned for this developing global story.

But let`s pull back and discuss what you won`t read about anywhere else... what these newly emerging realities mean for neighbourhoods internationally, and personal internal changes.

As we see more centralization of decision-making in the world (One world order, or world polarization, East-West, developed and developing nations) decisions and resulting plans will become ever more removed and less relevant to what needs to happen locally in our communities.  Ever increasing centralization initially leads to unsustainable results.  To maintain balance in the world, obviously there will be a spontaneous increase in the importance we give to the ‘hyper-local’, i.e. neighbourhoods.

Perspectives of `East and West` and ‘good and bad situations’ are creating the necessary tension for society to move to functioning in higher ways.  People will increasingly move to creativity and higher values, such as compassion, initially either out of fear, or out of the desire for inclusion and unification.  (Remember the western developed countries will be the `have-not` countries, and inclusion will come to the fore-front of western people`s minds).

In the last 25 years we`ve seen increased ecological ways of thinking which require the functioning of both halves of the brain.  But that`s just the beginning.

Believe me, people will start to be more aware of the organizing role of a non-localized, or quantum ‘shared Self’.  This way of thinking requires functioning of the brain`s frontal lobes.  To be exact, the front 2-pounds of an adult brain.  Recognition of a ‘shared Self’ and what we can think of as It`s actions will also probably develop though the functioning of the fore-brain.  We will soon recognize that the world is indeed one organism.

Scientists and linguists at the university in St. Petersburg during the early 1990`s already found that some of what Western scientists refer to as ‘junk DNA’ actually is the means by which individuals link individual actions into the overall actions within the ‘shared Self’.

So big changes are here -
  • Attention to individual needs rather than government policies and one-size-fits-all approaches,
  • Brain functioning in more complex ways requiring education for the creative economy,
  • Coordination through seeing how a neighbourhood, and a person, fits into the larger whole,
  • New coordinated ways to get things done locally and internationally over the Internet.
  • Perhaps bake sales to raise funds for the military. (Only kidding).
